Dr Topi Basar has more than two decades of teaching experience. An alumnus of Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She began her teaching career at Delhi University in 2005 to 2015. She also taught at National Law University, Assam for six years. Currently, she is Dean, Department of Law, Rajiv Gandhi University at Arunachal Pradesh. She is an awardee of Dr Pushpangadan Access and benefit sharing 2020(for contribution in the field of IPR , biological diversity and tribal welfare). She is first LL.M and Ph.D. in Law from Arunachal Pradesh. Her doctoral thesis is on Legal protection of traditional knowledge in India-a critical study from Delhi University. Her areas of research interest are Traditional Knowledge, GI, Constitutional law, Tribal customary laws. She is dedicated to promotion of quality legal education to the underprivileged tribal students of north east States.
