Aims & Objectives
The aims and objectives of the Society shall be:

To Promote and safeguard law teachers' rights, welfare, and professional interests and strengthen the mandate of NLTA.

To Promote and advocate for equitable working conditions, fair terms and conditions of employment, a humane teaching environment, fair remuneration, and other social security benefits.

To Promote legal fraternity amongst the teachers of the Universities and organise recreational activities for their benefit.

To Promote academic excellence and professional development through training, workshops, seminars, debates, discussions, symposia, and collaborations with other associations and institutes to benefit the teaching community.

To represent the teaching community in negotiations and discussions with university administration, external entities, and central bodies, such as All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), University Grants Commission (UGC), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and the Bar Council of India (BCI), as required.

To Provide legal and administrative support to members in cases related to their employment and professional activities. It also includes engaging senior advocates and getting assistance from the members of different bar associations, including the Supreme Court Bar Association.

To Foster a spirit of solidarity, fraternity, communal harmony, brotherhood, cooperation, and ethical conduct among members.

To actively develop policies and reforms related to education and research in all law programs, including LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. This involvement includes formulating or drafting new courses that address emerging trends in law, including the introduction of diploma and certificate courses in law schools.

To uphold and promote the foundational principles enshrined in the Constitution of India within the educational institution while imparting education, emphasising the rule of law, separation of powers, and equality before the law.

To advocate for and protect the universal human rights principles guaranteed by national and international legal frameworks, which include constitutional values enshrined in Part III and Part IV of the Constitution of India.

To strengthen and support democratic practices within educational institutions and society.

To safeguard the principle of secularism as a cornerstone of the Indian Republic, defeat all sorts of communal, hate and discriminatory politics in the educational institutions, ensuring separation of religion from education and state's unwarranted interference in education and university governance.

To defend the independence of legal education and research from political or ideological interference, ensuring that academic institutions remain spaces of critical inquiry and objective scholarship.

To suggest, initiate and work for suitable legislation affecting educational policy with special reference to the rights and responsibilities of teachers.

To receive funds and raise finances on voluntary basis from various lawful sources for furthering the aforesaid objectives of the NLTA.

To carry out any activities/assignments directly or indirectly related to the promotion of interests of the Association.
All the income, earnings, movable & immovable properties of the Association shall be solely utilized & applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set forth in the Memorandum of Association, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus, profits or in any manner whatsoever to the present or past members of the Association or to any person claiming through any one or more of the present or the past member. No member of the Association shall have personal claim on any moveable property of the Society or make any profit, whatsoever, by his/her membership.
